about

Young, Planetary is the brain child of Trevor Villagrana, who has long been involved in the Boise music scene. After years of playing in all sorts of punk and indie projects, he has put his songwriting to the ultimate test with Young, Planetary. In doing so he's combined elements of punk, emo, indie rock, and hardcore into a straight forward, rock n' roll conceptual EP entitled "Dead Letters."

Dead Letters, in part recorded by Sam Pura (The Story So Far, Basement) is the perfect record to start your Fall with. The EP's kickoff track, Chatter, showcases Young, Planetary's knack for catchy hooks and song dynamics. The sophomore song, Sleep, is a driving rock tune that encapsulates the energy Young, Planetary is representative of a live show for YP. Silver and Lost both do a great job of showcasing Villagrana's more mellow approach to songwriting, thus exemplifying variety again throughout the release. Finally, Crease ends the album with a fine balance of both the mellow and energetic, loud stuff. Overall, this is not a release you want to miss this year!
